Cool down

A good cool-down will help remove the lactic acid in the muscles and slow the heart rate to a normal range. Cool downs should be done for 5-10 minutes, but if you are short on time, a shorter cool down is better than none at all. Using the same cardio equipment to cool down as you did to warm up should be adequate. Just remember that you are trying to slowly bring your heart rate down, so you don’t want to push too hard. If you don’t have any cardio equipment you could just do some low to moderate intensity walking.
